What Happens After You Call
When you call (949) 298-5972, we ask a handful of questions before anyone drives out: the age of the door if you know it, whether it's a single or double, whether the spring is torsion or extension, and what it's doing right now - won't open, won't close, grinding, off track, opener clicking but nothing moves. Those answers tell us roughly what parts we'll need to bring.
A lot of houses around here were built between 1938 and 2015, with most of the stock from the 1960s and 70s, so we're often dealing with original hardware that's been repainted a few times and never replaced. That matters for a quote because a 1960s track bracket doesn't bolt up the same way a 2015 one does, and we'd rather know that before we're standing in your driveway.
We can give you a phone estimate for common jobs - a broken spring, a slipped cable, a bent roller - but it's a range until we see the door. Anything involving the panel, the opener's circuit board, or a track that's been bent out of true needs eyes on it. We won't quote a number we can't stand behind.
Contacting Us
Call (949) 298-5972 or come by 550 Newport Center Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660. If you're near Corona Del Mar, Newport Center, or Newport Coast, that's close to home base and usually the easiest to schedule. We also work the wider stretch toward Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Aliso Viejo, and the other communities within about a 20-mile radius - Newport Center sits roughly in the middle of that range.
Tell us the city or neighborhood when you call so we can give you an honest sense of timing, not just a generic promise. A job in Corona Del Mar, a mile from the office, schedules differently than one out past Rancho Mission Viejo.
Straight Answers
What we can price over the phone: springs, cables, rollers, weatherstripping, remotes, and openers where the symptoms are clear. What we can't: anything where the door itself might be the problem - warping, delamination, a frame that's shifted with the house settling. Houses around here run from 1938 construction up through 2015, and an older door frame can be out of square in ways a photo won't show us.
We work on residential garage doors and openers - repair, spring replacement, track and roller work, opener swaps. We don't do commercial roll-up doors or gate systems, and we won't quote one sight unseen either way.
One honest limitation: if your door needs a part that's been discontinued, we have to source it or talk through a replacement option, and that can push a quote out past the same-day numbers you might see elsewhere. We'd rather tell you that up front than lowball it on the phone.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For straightforward jobs - a broken spring, a slipped cable, a worn roller - yes, we can give you a range. Anything involving the door panel, a bent track, or an opener board usually needs a look in person before we commit to a number.
Do you come out to Corona Del Mar or Newport Coast?
Yes. Corona Del Mar is about a mile from our office on Newport Center Dr, and Newport Coast is close by as well. Both schedule easily since they're near home base.
What information should I have ready when I call?
The door's approximate age, whether it's a single or double door, torsion or extension spring if you know it, and a plain description of what's happening - won't open, won't close, makes noise, opener runs but door doesn't move.
Do you work outside Newport Beach itself?
We cover a range that includes places like Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, and several other communities within roughly 20 miles of Newport Center. Tell us where you're located and we'll let you know timing.
